2. Seep Lakes
This lake, north of Othello in the Columbia Basin Wildlife Area, is in amazing landscape of channels and small pools carved out by catastrophic Ice Age Floods more than 12,000 years ago.  During migration season, these lakes draw thousands of birds. Department of Fish and Wildlife maintains miles of gravel roads and several boat launch sites.

3. Quinault Rainforest
An average of 10 to 15 feet of rain a year (although not this year!) keeps the Quinault Rainforest a deep, emerald green. The Quinault River, one of our premier salmon rivers, flows through Olympic National Park and the Quinault Indian Nation to the Pacific Ocean.

7. Padilla Bay
This estuary is a must for birders, with an easy flat trail winding out amidst the mudflats. Estuaries where fresh and salt water mix in the Skagit Delta, like Padilla Bay and The Nature Conservancy's Port Susan Bay preserve, are important for salmon and birds and the health of Puget Sound.
